Here we go again

The truth is I never stopped writing... I just stopped finishing.
After the last band dissolved into thin air (the way they do) I assumed I would just move on to the next project. Sweet, innocent, simple Mik.
Here we are more than a few years down the line and that annoying tinnitus of unfinished ideas has grown louder and louder. It's time to get back on the horse, get some skin in the game, and viciously flog any other cheap metaphors I can think of.
Let's make some music.
Will anyone care? No clue, doesn't matter. Past Me had ambition, an unhealthy deadline addiction, and a suspicious amount of confidence. Present Me has strong opinions about good bourbon and the religious experience of a proper nap. Abide has replaced ambition.

Back to writing music (send help)
So what's it to be this time around? Pop? Rock? Jazz? Klingon operas? Electronic Klezmer Murder Ballads? (Gasp) Country?
How about all of the above?
I've made peace with the inconsistency of songwriting. Songs don’t arrive in a neat line. They show up messy and mismatched, pulling from different moods and influences, refusing to be neatly categorized. So this time there's no overarching theme or single genre. There's a certain freedom to being some rando on the internet. Embrace the chaos!

Flying Casual
There’s no brand strategy, no vision board. Just the simple goal of following my curiosity and seeing what happens. Sometimes what happens is a song. Sometimes what happens is rewiring the studio for no reason. Sometimes it's a bourbon induced nap. I’m not trying to impress anyone, least of all some random algorithm.

So this is me, flying casual and starting again. No big declarations. Just firing up the keyboard and seeing what’s left in the tank.
And that feels pretty damn fun.
